DELETED SCENES

(from the original screenplay by Richard LaGravenese)

Deleted Scene 1:  JACK'S ORIGINAL RADIO INTRO; JACK TORTURES EDWIN

In this alternate opening, Jack comes across much nastier.  "Rumours will fly about you losing your edge and before you know it, you're selling yourself on street corners to lonely middle-aged men from the Midwest."  He also has a much lengthier discussion with Edwin.  "TWO WEEKS?  And she's never home?  What, does she commute to Saigon every day?  Edwin, please..."  Finally, the scene ends with Jack being flippant with his studio crew.  "I want you all to know I'm getting sick again and it's because someone keeps forgetting to raise the thermostat before I come in here."

Deleted Scene 2:  CENTRAL PARK:  PARRY LAYS TRAPS FOR DRUG DEALERS

Parry sets traps in Central Park.  "This is a very popular tree with the crack dealers."  When three youths arrive, making a deal, Parry uses his slingshot to hit the nail securing the rope.  The youths are pulled up into the tree by the nets.  "HEY!  WHAT THE F***!  S***!  GET ME THE F*** DOWN FROM HERE!"

Deleted Scene 3:  JACK HALLUCINATES DURING ROBBERY

While scaling Carmichael's townhouse, Jack has further hallucinations.  "I was never good at this in gym."  He thinks he hears the galloping hooves of the red knight coming towards him, and also three police cars with a reporter.  "A crazed radio personality dangles from the townhouse of billionaire..."  Then he hallucinates that Anne jumps out of one of the police cars, "her face full of concern and love".

Deleted Scene 4:  ALTERNATE ENDING

More drug dealers in Central Park are trapped, this time by Jack.  "I'm getting tired of this s***."  Jack then asks Parry:  "You think maybe one day I'll get to see them -- the Little People?"  Parry looks proudly upon Jack, who stands naked in the park, a twig in his hair, and a wide grin on his face.
